Video Games Fall 2008

So, I've been playing a lot of video games lately. Here's 3.
Force Unleashed
In the past most Star Wars games have been pretty meesh mosh. Some, like Knights of the Old Republic and Battlefront 2, have been incredible...but others have been pretty average. Of course for a Star Wars fan like my self they're all great, and this game is no exception. In fact the Force Unleashed may be one of the most fun Star Wars games of all time. The game features a great story that happens in between episodes 3 and 4. The game play is somewhat repetitive, but very rewarding. The game features great force powers that make fighting the same bad guys over and over very entertaining. The game took about 10 hours to complete, but if it had been any longer i would have probably lost interest. If you love Star Wars and love video games than this game is worth checking out.
Saint's Row 2
This summer i was pretty disappointed by the direction that GTA 4 took, the game was incredibly detailed and the city felt a live but because of the increase in realism it was a lot harder to just have fun like i could in the previous Grant Theft Auto titles. Saint's Row 2 has brought the fun back to the open-world-car-stealing genre. This game is SO fun! Maybe I'm in love with this game because my character looks a lot like myself (maybe ill show you later) but in this game i really feel like I'm in a gang. The game basically puts you in charge of the 3rd Saints, a gang that has fallen from it's glory in the city of Stillwater, and its your job to take back the city in the name of your gang. Sure, the idea is pretty much stolen straight from GTA: San Andreas, but Saint's Row 2 really does it better. By taking over different neighborhoods you gain more respect and earn more money. The game gives you a real sense of accomplishment as you take over more and more of the city. One thing the game does that really impressed was it made all the mini games and side quests worth doing, a lot of times in games stuff like that is boring and pointless but in this game there are great rewards for your work...needless to say an awesome game.
Fallout 3
The Fallout series is one that has always been fascinating to me, i picked up the first two when i was in 6th grade and have been in love ever since. For some reason the post apocalyptic world is AWESOME to me. So obviously I've been excited about the third installment of the franchise, and the game has lived up to all of my excitement. The game was developed by Bethesda Softworks, developers of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and its easy to the similarities between this game and Oblivion. The game basically tries to fuse the first person shooter genre and the RPG genre together, and for the most part the game does this. It looks and acts like a shooter but also features a new combat system and is all backed by an RPG leveling system. Fallout 3 is really deep, both in its story and in its world. While I haven't completed the game yet i can tell you that it is an incredible experience that will last you a very long time.

comics!

MAN! i've been reading a lot of comics lately. nerdy? no, not at all. So, lets go back and take a look at the highlights of comics i've read recently. Actually, no. I'm just gonna say that 1. The Watchmen may be the greatest BOOK i've ever read, that includes ALL books and not just comic books. 2. THE WALKING DEAD. My roommate PJ and i got into this book about the zombie apocolypse and it is brilliant! sooo that's all ive got. kind of a bad post...but whatever!

20 years old!

This weekend i turned twenty years old. That's kinda old. Not really old. but maaaan i have been alive for 2 whole decades. I'm like twice as old as the matrix! So ill give you a rundown of the weekend based solely off of pictures from my camera phone.

First Nik, Stefanie, Emmy, and myself went to torchy's to get some dinner. Then after that we drove to Waco to the see the last performance of Ethan Durelle. Lots of friends were there. Friends: Tyler, Amelia, Juan, Carmen, Caitlen, Justin W., Noelle, Dane, Lainey, Jeremi, Casey, and Lance Higdon. It was sad to see the band play their last song.
Then the next day me and Emmy and Justin went to the grocery. While we were there Emmy accidentally broke a glass bottle full of chocolate milk all over the ground and the contents of our cart...it was awesome.
(thats all the pictures i took...sorry)

do you believe in luck?

i guess i forgot to show you this. i'm in it. it was made this summer.

infanticide

Did you know that often times when i new lion becomes the leader of his lion pack his kills all the baby lions that are around?!?! You see he does it because while the lion cubs are still nursing the lady lions can't get pregnant. So the lion king just kills all the little lions so he get their mommas pregnant! That is some crazy stuff.

Thug Life

As you may or may not know, I LOVE HIP HOP.
I mean not all hip hop...but some hip hop.
Mostly hip hop from the mid 1990's.
So today I'd like to treat you to my favorite line from any rap song ever.
It goes like this:
"Now honeys play me close like butter plays toast" The Notorious B.I.G.

Top 5 Team Ups of All Time

Top 5 Greatest Team Ups of All Time:
(in no particular order)

1. The Punisher and Archie.
Why is this one of the top team ups of all time according to Proctor Anderson?
The sheer wonder of how this happened is what is so amazing to me about this. Archie is a fun loving small town red head who is tangled up in high school crushes...and the Punisher is one of the most relentless vigilante crime fighters in all the Marvel Universe. How these gentlemen met is a mystery to me, but there is no doubt in my mind that magical things happened when they got together.

2. The Jetsons and The Flintstones.
I guess this one pretty much makes sense, why not take my two favorite cartoon families from different centuries and combine in one mixed up made for TV movie. This one rocked my world as a kid. I think i only saw it once or twice but i LOVED it. Basically the kid from the Jetsons builds a time machine and then...well i don't know. Even though i don't remember anything from the plot, i still feel like it is safe to say that it was awesome.

3. The 1996 Olympic Dream Team.
This team completley blew me out of the water. I know, i don't seem like the basketball type...and sure i was only 8 when this all went down, but i thought this team was the greatest thing to EVER happen. First of all lets break it down. The team consisted of Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Scottie Pippen, David Robinson, John Stockton, Shaquille O'Neal, and Hakeem Olajuwon. And sure there were some other players, but that right there is 7 of the Top 50 NBA players of all time. The team took home the gold medal that year and they will forever hold a special place in my heard. Interesting Trivia Fact: I wrote the essay on my SAT about the 96 Dream Team.

4. Sonic & Knuckles.
Since around 1993 i have been a proud owner of a Sega Genesis and because of that i have a much stronger relationship with speedy blue hedgehog known as Sonic. While most kids my age were busy playing Mario and saving a virtual princesses, i was busy stopping the evil Dr. Robonik from turning all the innocent animals of the world into his robot minons. After i made my way through the first three Sonic games i thought i pretty much had everything in the world of sonic figured out and then Sonic changed EVERYTHING. Well not really everything, they just added the ability to play as an echidna named Knuckles...and to be perfectly honest he was pretty much exactly the same as sonic but he could punch people and glide. To this day i still don't really know what an echidna is.

5. Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.
In my mind the finest team in the world of hip hop. How can you deny these two guys? Imagine if Emperor Palpetine and Darth Vader were both good guys, and then imagine if the Emperor was a famous rap producer and Vader was one of the freshest rappers to ever come out of the east coast...thats basically Dre and Snoop for you. If you like hip hop then you have to respect these guys regardless of where you stand on the East Coast/West Coast battle of the mid 90's. In 2001 both Dre and Snoop starred in comedy called The Wash about working at a car wash in south central Los Angeles.

hi, everything's great

So everyone finally made it to Euerka Springs. We wound up having to have enterprise tow the broken van away and send taxi's to pick up the 3 adults and all the luggage that couldn't fit into our other vehicles. Then! The taxis took them to an enterprise location in Dallas where they waited...for awhile and wound up having to take two mini vans. Aye aye aye! So you would think that the worst had past? Pee Shaw!!! I woke up this morning at 5 and started puking...I won't go into too much detail but im back at camp trying to keep hydrated. I have talked to the group at the work site and they say everything is going well. They are doing a lot of different types of repair work for a family in need. I'm heading to the doctor in a bit...I'll update you on that later. God works in very mysterious ways sometimes.

Right now I'm on the road on the way to Eureka Springs, Ar. We are some where in Oklahoma. We've made numerous stops for bathroom breaks, gas, and food. One of our rental vans broke down outside of Dallas...its been a rough morning.
